78 Year Old ‘Baa’ Reaches Top 16 in MasterChef India, Proves Age is No Bar to Chase Dreams!

When life throws a curveball, bouncing back is super difficult but Urmila Ba’s journey proves that when you decide something for yourself, nothing can stop you. India’s most popular food reality show, Masterchef India began airing recently and the contestants are making headlines already. One of the first contestants to reach Top 16 on Masterchef India is Urmila Ba, a 78 year old lady who is inspiring millions.

The constant smile on her face would make you believe that her life has been amazing but actually it has been full of setbacks. She lost all three of her kids due to various reasons. For a mother there is nothing more hard than losing all of her children, but the strong lady decided that she needs to keep moving forward. When her husband lost his job, she contributed to the household by cooking for different households. She overcame all financial constraints for her family.  And one day her grandson helped her make her own Youtube Channel ‘Gujju Ben na Nasta’, breaking the myth that being an influencer has anything to do with age! She is an inspirational TedX speaker too.

Her love for feeding people and cooking delicious dishes can be seen from the way she explains her dishes. When she made an appearance in the audition round of Masterchef India, her presence brought a smile on all the three judges' faces, Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and Garima Arora. But her dish was the deciding factor that earned her a place for the next round!

And yesterday her Undhiyu (a Gujarati delicacy) was so amazing that the judges couldn’t resist sending her directly to the Top 16! Her hardwork and cooking dexterity is helping her build a name for herself!
