Reducing the intake of negative news, having faith in yourself, exercising, meditating, being grateful for all your blessings are some helpful ways in staying positive during tough times. But before anything, just accepting the situation for what it is, is extremely important. Only after acceptance can one feel and process all their emotions out. Once you make peace with everything that is going on, you can take small practical steps of facing your problems and finding solutions to them one day at a time
